EWOMENNETWORK JOINS INTELETRAVEL
(Delray Beach, Florida; November 8, 2006) eWomenNetwork, inc. (eWN), North America's largest networking organization for businesswomen, signed a marketing partnership agreement with InteleTravel.com, the longtime host agency, bringing women-focused travel opportunities to over 500,000 female business owners, executives and entrepreneurs. Joan K. Duran (Dane), a former ASTA executive and new director of InteleTravel's Women's Initiative, arranged the deal as part of the agency's push to address the specific travel needs of women.
InteleTravel will offer both its Independent Travel Agent program, and its retail travel products, to eWN members, through live regional events, the eWN website (www.ewomennetwork.com), eWN publications, the eWomenNetwork Radio Show (broadcast nationwide on the largest ABC affiliate, 820 WBAP), and other channels.
Founded in Dallas, Texas in 2000, eWomenNetwork's mission is to promote the success and personal growth of women by sharing resources and information. Over 100 chapters nationwide produce thousands of trademarked events annually, including Accelerated NetworkingTM, Breakthroughs Over BreakfastTM, An Evening of Chocolate DecadenceTM, and more. The eWomenNetwork.com web site receives over 200,000 hits daily, making it the most visited businesswomen's web site in the U.S. & Canada. The eWomenNetwork Foundation awards cash grants to support women's non-profit organizations that address the physical and financial health of underprivileged women, and administers the International "Femtor" Awards, scholarships to "Emerging Leaders" who, at a young age, have already demonstrated outstanding leadership and a commitment to serving others. A recent example received coverage on Anderson Cooper 360 on CNN. eWN brought in Nike and the WNBA to assist The Lady Pirates of Pass Christian, a girls' basketball team in a coastal Mississippi town that was devastated by Hurricane Katrina. Of over 7,000 major women's organizations in the nation, eWomenNetwork has been endorsed by the White House as one of the top 21 "organizations of choice" on its www.Women-21.gov web site, and has been profiled on Oprah Winfrey's television program.
Sandra Yancey, eWN founder and CEO, is a best selling author and speaker on networking, communication and leadership. She was named by Women's Enterprise Magazine as one of the nation's top five change agents for women and business. Says Yancey, "InteleTravel joins American Airlines, American Express, Microsoft and our other national partners that give our business women the advantages and attention they deserve. Now they can access better pricing, more convenient booking, and travel opportunities tailored to their special needs, plus an opportunity to add income to their existing businesses through InteleTravel's unique Independent Travel Agent program."
InteleTravel's Duran adds, "We are proud to be associated with a national organization that supports women in such a meaningful way. EWN gives me an instant and huge market for the women-focused suppliers and products I am developing. It is our first leap inside the fastest growing market in travel."
Established in 1998 as the online successor to the earlier InteleTravel International, one of the originators of the home-based travel agent concept (1992), InteleTravel.com has a worldwide network of thousands of full and part-time independent travel agents who refer families, friends, co-workers, etc., to its booking technology to purchase most major travel products. In return, agents earn up to 80% of the agency's commissions. Today, the concept has become a pillar of the travel industry, accounting for 7 billion dollars a year in travel sales, according to a 2006 Credit Suisse First Boston report. In addition to this new Women's Initiative, InteleTravel.com is planning a complete re-launch of its website, preferred supplier program, and other services for early 2007. The agency is endorsed by IATAN, and a member of CLIA, ARTA and OSSN.
[Background: From the U.S. government's www.Women-21.gov website: The growth of women entrepreneurs in the United States has been spectacular. Today, there are 6.2 million women-owned firms employing 9.2 million people and generating sales of $1.15 trillion. But women are impacting much more than how business gets done in America. They are shaping and redefining the workplace, the nation's business networks, financial institutions, and our culture. Perhaps most of all, women entrepreneurs are deeply influencing how the business community, public officials and the media perceive and respond to women.]
